BEAUFORT: Bersatu Youth Wing Chief Wan Ahmad Fahsyal Wan Ahmad Kamal is wrong in disputing targeted subsidies being excluded for Sabah and Sarawak.

Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Lumadan Chief Mazlan Joehari Manan said the Federal Government should prioritise the two states because the main contributor to the development of the peninsula is the oil and gas obtained from Sabah and Sarawak, which includes diesel.

“The largest oil wells are only found in Sabah and Sarawak, which makes these two regions the main contributors to development in Malaysia, especially in the peninsula.

“Therefore, it is appropriate for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not to implement targeted subsidies in Sabah and Sarawak, but only in the peninsula,” he said.
