SANDAKAN: Sandakan tourism has long suffered due to absence of air connectivity to the district for many years, “Air connectivity is the most important thing in promoting tourism, as well as the key to many potential activity such as for economic growth, said Lai King Hang.
“We think that a direct flight from Singapore, which is an international hub, is the best alternative,” he said, adding the matter was for many years but left to be seen whether it would materialise.
Senthil Ilangovan, Group Hotel Manager of Hotel Sandakan said despite attractive offer of low room rates by the hotel, the occupancy rate was still low.
