KUNAK: A disabled woman was rescued by firefighters and Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel after she became trapped in floodwaters at Kg Airport Batu 10, Jalan Tun Fuad, on Saturday.
Kunak Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohamad Omarbatha said the station received an emergency call at 3.07pm and dispatched a team led by Senior Fire Officer I Mohamad Ridzuan Sahidun with seven personnel in an FRT and EMRS vehicle.
He said the woman was found stranded by Fire and Rescue Department and APM personnel before being safely evacuated to a nearby relative's house.
The team also carried out monitoring in the affected area following the rescue operation.
The operation ended after the situation was brought under control.
