At any given moment, and in social spaces at all levels of society, there are a range of ongoing discourses concerned with various aspects of humanity’s wellbeing and progress: discourses on such subjects as the equality of women and men, peace, governance, public health, and development, to name but a few. Discourses on any topic must be carried out by in a rational, logical, ethical and in a civilized manner, failing which it only indicates we have not grown and developed into a matured democratic society yet.

The recent discourses on vernacular school are going on for someime. Why should politicians or academicians claim that it is not healthy or requires police intervention? Anybody can make a police report citing various reasons, that does not mean he or she is guilty. It only invites or requests the police to investigate.

Today we watch people expressing all sorts of issues through tick-tok, youtube and other social media. It is all mere expression of one's opinion not facts or truth.

It is healthy for academicians and experts to have public discourse so that the public can understand within their capacity the pros and cons of the issues. It must be debated and consulted in a civilized manner and it should not “cross the red line.” He who expresses an opinion should not voice it as correct and right but set it forth as a contribution to the consensus of opinion, for the light of reality becomes apparent when two opinions coincide. A spark is produced when flint and steel come together" Promulgation of Universal peace

The politicians are always there to make political millage or become ethnic heroes for their respective race, portraying as the best leader to represent them, expecting leadership of their respective parties to take notice of them, proping up their image, to get seat or to maintain their existing seat for the next general election.

Anybody who goes in tangent with "unity in diversity" and against peace and security of this country should not participate in public discourses either through publishing media or social media. "If five people meet together to seek for truth, they must begin by cutting themselves free from all their own special conditions and renouncing all preconceived ideas. In order to find truth we must give up our prejudices, our own small trivial notions; an open receptive mind is essential. If our chalice is full of self, there is no room in it for the water of life. The fact that we imagine ourselves to be right and everybody else wrong is the greatest of all obstacles in the path towards unity, and unity is necessary if we would reach truth, for truth is one" Paris Talk

There were many public discourses which took place in the past, currently and also will take place in future, as long they manage the trajectories of their discourse in the right direction, bearing in mind to be cautious and conscious of what they say or write not to provoke, stirr ethnic tensions which may lead to violence or unpleasant incidents.

The disease of politicians is that they cannot say anything things without gaining political mileage, which means stirring racial sentiments or religious bigotry. Can these politician be healed or cured from these past diseases which they always prone to, who fall back on, from time to time when chips are down. They should become politicians of honour not always "street fighter politicians".

Discourses must go on, rain or shine as only through discourses and consultation, the "spark of truth will come about with the clashes of opinion.

Politician or the government should not take the public as ignorant or can be misled, as with the advent of internet, citizens are getting educated through the "University of the universe" the internet and social media, through fake and genuine news. The public should not be underated but be educated along correct path leading a civilized democratic Malaysian society.
