Let’s start with Pesta Rumbia, an energetic festival in Sabah celebrating the sago palm. It’s a real feast for the senses with traditional sago processing methods and mesmerizing cultural performances. The Mongigol Sumundai dance is a highlight, showcasing the rich heritage of the Rungus people. It’s truly a celebration of nature and community.

2. Tarian Zapin

Then there’s the enchanting Zapin dance in Johor, which is one of the famous Malaysian cultural traditions until now. Filled with Middle Eastern and Malay cultural elements, this dance dates back to our history when Arab communities used to settle in Johor-Riau Archipelago. With its graceful movements and rhythmic beats, Zapin is not just for entertainment but also a powerful cultural expression spreading values of humility, respect, and social harmony.

3. Ponggal
