KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — A senior citizen in Chengdu, China arriving to work as a restaurant worker in a Bentley has set social media ablaze.
A clip of the woman being sent to her workplace at Sichuan has gone viral on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo after it was uploaded on April 1.
Approached by a China Times journalist, the dishwashing lady said she decided to work in the restaurant as she got bored sitting at home.
“I get uncomfortable when not doing dishes at home,” she said.
Besides doing the dishes at the restaurant, the woman also does general cleaning.
According to the portal, the woman is sent to work by her daughter and the woman’s employer confirmed she was not in need of money.
Oriental Daily quoted the woman’s daughter as saying that the family could not stop their mother from working at the restaurant.
As such, they would send their mother to work daily in the Bentley.
Social media users commented the restaurant owner is the poorer one while others praised the woman for being hardworking.
