KUCHING, May 18 — A District Police Chief (KPD) in Sarawak is currently under investigation over allegations of sexually harassing a female officer.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah confirmed the matter, stating that further investigations were underway to determine the veracity of the report.

“(At this stage) It is merely an allegation, it is not necessarily true. We will investigate first,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.

Earlier, the victim, who is stationed at the same District Police Headquarters (IPD), lodged a police report claiming she was harassed by the senior officer.
