MANILA, Philippines — Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the swift repair of dikes, bridges and other structures that were damaged during the onslaught of Tropical Storm Basyang.

Dizon issued the order following an inspection of structures in Iligan and Lanao del Norte.

He ordered the dispatch of additional equipment and personnel to expedite the dredging and desilting of the Iligan, Tubod, and Mandulog rivers to alleviate flooding.

"This is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, to ensure the integrity of bridges, dikes and other flood mitigation structures in the province," Dizon said.
