MANILA, Philippines — Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon revamped his regional directors and assistant directors in line with the ongoing sweeping reforms at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to curb rampant corruption.

Dizon signed 22 special orders (SO), all dated Jan. 22, 2026, designating new regional directors in 12 of 17 DPWH regional offices across the country, and 10 assistant regional directors.

New DPWH regional directors were named in Regions I (Ilocos), III (Central Luzon), IV-A (Calaarzon), IV-B (Mimaropa), V (Bicol), VI (Western Visayas), IX (Western Mindanao), XII (Soccsksargen), XIII (Caraga), Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Negros Island Region (NIR), and new assistant regional directors in Regions CAR, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Central Visayas, Zamboanga, Northern Mindanao, Davao,Soccsksargen and the National Capital Region (NCR).

As the implementing arms of the DPWH, Dizon said the regional offices play a vital role in ensuring that the implementation of flood control projects and other infrastructures were in accordance with the procurement process, correct specification and approved structural plan.

To ensure the uninterrupted delivery of public service, added Dizon, regional directors and assistant regional directors were directed "to conduct an inventory, accomplish, complete, and sign all pending documents, such as but not limited to monthly certificates of payment, statement of work accomplished, as-built plan, and corresponding back-up computation, among others, and formally turn over all official records, papers, and properties in his/her custody to the appropriate office of the regional office of his/her previous assignments, prior to the assumption of his/her new post."

"The initiative reflects our shared beliefs that transparency should not only govern the implementation of public infrastructure projects, but also guide the selection and evaluation of the men and women entrusted to lead them," Dizon further said.
