Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants his Manchester United players to be more ruthless in front of goal.

The Red Devils played out a 2-2 draw at home with newly promoted Aston Villa on Sunday.

It means they are further adrift in the race for the top four, while they drop to 9th place in the Premier League.

United face Tottenham and Manchester City in their next league games.

After the game, their Norwegian manager told reporters: "I think there's loads of evidence these boys are closer to winning games than losing games and to tip those margins in our favour, we've got to work on different things today.

"We are probably the youngest team in the league. That is not an excuse for us to not see games out.

"What we want to see is get two or three goals lead. I'm disappointed we conceded today after taking the lead and the game became more end to end.

"Today we created chances to be stood there three yards from goal and just tuck it in. Dan (James) created some chances. Juan (Mata) - that was one as well.

"We have got players who score worldies - but get yourself those extra four or five and that will get us points. We are working on this. There could have been a couple of tap-ins."
