Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac assured on Thursday that the seven Filipino crew members on board the container ship San Antonio at the Strait of Hormuz are safe following a drone attack on Tuesday.
Cacdac said all seven Filipinos survived the incident, with four sustaining minor injuries and three others under intensive care.
“DMW through its Migrant Workers Offices is in close coordination with hospital authorities to monitor the condition of the injured seafarers and to ensure they receive proper medical treatment and care,” the agency said.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment in safeguarding Filipino seafarers that are affected by maritime incidents.
