MANILA, Philippines — No Filipinos were reported affected following explosions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday night and Saturday morning, Sept. 18 and 19, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
According to the DMW, Houthi militants launched drone and ballistic missile attacks targeting the Saudi capital and energy sites along the Red Sea coasts.
The DMW said it was monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Saudi Arabia through its Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs), in coordination with the Philippine Embassy and Consulate.
The agency advised overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to “remain vigilant and to follow guidance and advisories issued by Saudi authorities.”
The DMW said the embassy and consulate were ready to assist OFWs who may need help. It also advised OFWs requiring assistance to coordinate with the appropriate MWO.
