TONGOD: The Tongod District Welfare Services Office is requesting public help in tracing the family or next of kin of an 11-month-old girl who was handed over by her biological mother to a married couple at their home in Kampung Karamunting along Jalan Batu Sapi, Sandakan.

The child’s guardians have since lodged a police report for further action.

The child known as Auroraiza was born on Dec 3, 2021 in Kampung Karamunting at about 11.30pm to a woman known as Felina Oton Oracay.

Tongod Child Protection Officer, Arnold Gongora, in a statement Friday said their Office is now conducting an investigation.

“The case is being investigated under Section 17(1)(d) of the Child Act (Amendment) 2016.
