DoE DG claims trial over alleged RM100,000 bribe

DoE director-general Wan Abdul Latiff pleads not guilty in court to accepting a RM100,000 bribe linked to a Putrajaya project.

KUALA LUMPUR: The director-general of the Environment Department (DoE) Datuk Wan Abdul Latiff Wan Jaffar pleaded not guilty in the sessions court here today to a charge of accepting RM100,000 in bribes.

The plea was recorded before judge Suzana Hussin.

Wan Abdul Latiff, 58, is accused of receiving the bribe from Sunrich Conquest Sdn Bhd director Khor Chong Hai through the company’s project manager Lee Ham Kong.

The offence allegedly took place on Jan 15, 2025, at the director-general’s office in Putrajaya.
