A dog named Rocky was allegedly beaten to death by a group of individuals in Pelabuhan Klang, Selangor, after they reportedly claimed that the animal had bitten a child.
The alleged incident reportedly took place at Taman Teluk Gedung Indah on July 29, 2026.
Video of alleged incident circulated online
An Instagram user shared details of the alleged incident after receiving a video that appeared to show Rocky being restrained using a dog catching rope.
The dog was then allegedly struck repeatedly with a metal rod.
The individuals involved were reportedly not officers from the local council or any other relevant authority.
The full circumstances surrounding the incident, including the claim that Rocky had bitten a child, have not been independently verified.
OP urges public to lodge reports
Through the post, the OP also urged those with information about the incident to lodge reports with the police and the Department of Veterinary Services.
The OP also offered to provide members of the public with a sample report.
They argued that even if the dog had bitten someone, the matter should have been reported to the authorities instead of being handled privately.
This is a deeply disturbing case of alleged animal cruelty,” the OP wrote.
The OP added that a proper investigation should be conducted to determine what happened and whether any laws were broken.
Authorities yet to confirm incident
At the time of writing, it is unclear whether any police or veterinary department reports have been lodged over the alleged incident.
