Dolly Parton’s final message to fans has been revealed in a newly released video recorded before her death.
The beloved singer died in August at the age of 80 after a “brief battle with cancer,” her publicist said at the time. The type of cancer has not been disclosed.
Parton was posthumously awarded the Americana Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Music Association on Wednesday (16 September), and recorded a video accepting the honour before she died.
“I want to thank everyone at the AMA for recognising me with this award. It’s a great honour, truly, and just know that I will always love you,” she said.
