- The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is currently consulting with the Sentencing Council regarding this proposed change.
- Domestic murders account for over a fifth of all murders, with women overwhelmingly being the victims, and between two and three women are killed by partners or ex-partners each week in England and Wales.
