Don’t bully Muda, DAP’s Loke reminds Pakatan colleagues

SHAH ALAM – DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke today reminded Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties not to bully Muda over its bid to join the opposition coalition.

However, he also had a word for the fledgling party, reminding those who seek to join PH not to be “greedy”.

“For those who are young, don’t be greedy in your demands and for those who are old, don’t be stingy when you want to give.

“This is my advice to ‘orang muda-muda’ (young people). Please listen carefully, I’m not saying Muda members,'” he said in jest, drawing laughter from his audience at DAP’s special congress today.

“In PH, there shouldn’t be any bullying behaviour among one another. We respect one another, no matter the age.

“PH is not a bully. We want PH to be strong and to enter the election as one united team,”' he added.

Loke’s comments come amidst unease within PH, especially PKR, about Muda’s desire to join the coalition.

Several PKR lawmakers, grassroots leaders, and ordinary members have voiced their dissatisfaction, bringing up PKR and Muda’s clash for the Larkin state seat during the Johor election in March as one reason.

Recent criticism of Muda came from PKR treasurer and Selayang MP William Leong, who said Muda does not bring value to the coalition as component parties have to compromise in seat allocations for the coming general election. – The Vibes, February 25, 2022
