Chairman of the Malay Proclamation, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad urged voters in the six states where elections will take place not to support a party that is unable to lead the nation.
Additionally, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad asserted that the current government is not fit to solve the nation's economic, social, and political issues.
According to Astro Awani, Dr. Mahathir claims that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim only has the ability to deliver speeches and will not be able to put his plans into action due to the state of the nation's economy.
“We want to hold elections because we don't want to elect people who we know won't be able to run the country. The current government is unable to solve all the issues, including social, political, and economic issues. The prime minister is only good at making speeches.” said Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
"Today we heard that he wants to increase the minimum salary, but even if he wants to, he can't because there is no money, he will not be able to increase it until next year as well," said Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at a press conference after the tour series Bicara Bangsa Tanah Aku Dulu, Kini, Ke Hadapan organized by the secretariat of the Malays Proclamation.
Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad also claimed that the existing government is not ready to listen to his side's opinion, which he said is serious about fighting for the rights of the Malays.
According to Nasional Kini, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad said "The opinion of the opposing party is simply rejected. That's why in state-level elections, the people have to choose wisely. Do they want to stay with a government that doesn't do anything or chooses the government that can fix their issues, especially the issues of the Malays in our country? Only those who understand this problem and have ideas on how to overcome it, if given the power, can solve it.” He made this statement during the Malay Proclamation secretariat's Bicara Bangsa Tanah Aku Dulu, Kini, Ke Hadapan tour series.
