KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (KPSTI) has condemned a political statement it says misrepresents the issue of dilapidated schools.
Minister Datuk James Ratib stressed that “dilapidated schools” and “dilapidated buildings” are different, warning against conflating structural issues with overall school performance.
He acknowledged ongoing challenges such as poor infrastructure, internet access and rural education gaps, but said multiple initiatives are underway, including 14 education aid programmes, rural internet projects, smartboard proposals and teacher training efforts.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to improving Sabah’s education system and urged all parties not to politicise the issue or mislead the public.
