KINABATANGAN: The people are reminded not to repeat mistakes made during the 14th General Election where not a single party ended up dominant enough to helm the government.
Sabah Umno Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the very mistake caused the country to experience political instability felt until today.
According to him, the situation is not good because the ruling government is vacillating and hindering the country’s development and economy which the people are suffering from.
Bung said opportunity was given to the opposition to take over the country’s leadership.
“But what they have done during their 22-month rule? They failed to keep their promises stated in their manifesto and there was only a grudge held against Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders,” said the Kinabatangan Umno Division Chief.
He said Umno and BN are determined to ensure that the government formed after GE15 is a stable and prosperous one which keeps the interests of its people.
“Therefore, we must earn our victory. Approach members and the people to attract their support for the coming general election which is around the corner,” he said when launching the Bukit Garam branches at SMK Bukit Garam, here.
Bung said the party’s momentum is better now with increased membership and a morale booster compared to when they were down and defeated after GE14.
“Not only enthusiasm, we also need strategy and action. Therefore, branches, the youth and women wings need to play their respective roles,” he said.
