
KENINGAU: Licensed firearms holders here are reminded not to shoot at electric cables.
Keningau District Police Chief Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai said there are complaints from Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) regarding damage to electrical cables as a result of gunfire, believed from shotguns.
He said this would not only incur repair costs but also affect electricity supply in the area.
Yampil said this in a dialogue session with a total of 60 licensed firearm holders who attended the session of handing over Firearms License Renewal Forms for the Year 2024/2025 at the IPD here, recently.

In addition, he said, gun owners need to have the responsibility of taking care of safety of their respective firearms.
Meanwhile, Yampil is satisfied with the commitment of firearms holders under the Keningau IPD who have shown cooperation in renewing their respective firearms licenses.
He said the Firearms License Renewal Program for the year 2024/2025 is running well and smoothly.
