‘Donald Trump has finally united the country’: The View hosts react to midterm results

The View hosts are overjoyed about the shocking blue wave brought on the 2026 midterm elections.

ABC’s daytime talk show kicked off with a chipper panel of hosts Wednesday, the day after Democrats took control of both the House and the Senate.

“Donald Trump has finally united the country,” panelist Joy Behar joked as the women took their seats. She then poked fun at Trump’s recent fixation on “big butts,” adding: “He can look at every Republican ass as they walk out the door.”

Former Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin added that the Democrats’ wins is “the beginning of the end of the MAGA movement,” adding, “Today, Donald Trump is officially a lame duck president.”

On a more serious note, Ana Navarro nearly broke into tears as she spoke about her pride for her Latino community as voting polls show that Hispanic voters appeared to move away from Republican candidates.

The panelists of 'The View' were in high spirits about the midterm election results Wednesday (ABC)

“I’m really very proud of the American people because we showed that we don’t storm the Capitol, we storm the polls,” she said.

Navarro continued, “Donald Trump has done more for diversity and DEI because he united Blacks and browns and gays and women... They remembered and made history.”

The results have been historic in Texas, where Democrat James Talarico won, along with Annie Andrews in South Carolina and Sherrod Brown in Ohio. It has been several decades since the Democrats held any of these Senate seats.

“That is the promise of America,” Whoopi Goldberg said. “That is the promise of this country, that anybody can run, that anybody can stand up and say ‘I think I can help the country.”

Sara Haines noted: “When you don't play red or blue, you're just looking for integrity of character,” while Griffin said that the election “represented the best of what America can be.”

“The pendulum always swings in American politics. I am so excited for what the future can hold,” she added.

Navarro said she “can’t wait to see Speaker Hakim Jeffries,” while Behar quipped: “I can't wait to see [ousted Maine Senator] Susan Collins and Lauren Boebert on Dancing With the Stars.”

Waiting until after the first commercial break to speak, Sunny Hostin nearly broke into tears after Behar pointed out that she had long predicted the blue wave.

“I’m 58 years old,” Hostin said. “I've lived. And for me it just seems like in this country ... when one group is suffering not everyone can feel their pain. But in this country, at this time in history, there was a collective struggle in America.”

She continued: “I knew that America would be better in that moment because we were in it together. So I was confident that this ship would be righted.”

Later in the show, Senator-elect Talarico joined the panelists for a victory lap after becoming the first Democrat in the state to be elected to the upper chamber of Congress in nearly 40 years.

When reached about the episode, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said in a statement: “The co-hosts of The View are extremely unlikeable, talentless hacks with a poorly rated TV show who clearly suffer from a severe and incurable disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome. I lose braincells every time I have the displeasure of hearing them speak.”
