SHAH ALAM, July 18 — The district of Hulu Langat is expected to undergo heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms until later this evening, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
In a statement issued at 3.45pm, the agency said other states and areas which will also be affected include Kuala Muda, Baling and Kulim in Kedah, as well as Kuala Lumpur.
The strong weather is expected to persist until 6pm.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
