DP World expands Asian operations

DP World has inaugurated an 11,514-square-meter warehouse in Johor, Malaysia, advancing its strategy to connect landside contract logistics with its regional port network across Southeast Asia.

Located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, the hub provides inbound logistics and warehousing for high-value verticals, including technology, automotive, fashion, and industrial manufacturing. The facility streamlines cross-border cargo flows along the Malaysia-Singapore trade corridor.

The site represents the first of two planned Malaysian assets, with a second location scheduled to open in Kuala Lumpur later this year. This expansion aligns with a broader shift among global terminal operators to control landside logistics by tying inland warehousing directly to DP World’s 16 Asia-Pacific marine terminals.

Unifying warehousing with air, ocean, and intermodal freight forwarding offers shippers a single-source supply chain platform across regional trade routes.

“As we continue to invest in strategic logistics assets across the region and connect them to our existing network of ports and terminals, we are enhancing our ability to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions,” said Jeanie Tan, chief commercial officer for Logistics, Asia-Pacific at DP World.

The Johor opening forms part of a multi-market build-out across Southeast Asia, with additional contract logistics facilities launching in Thailand and the Philippines before year-end.

These developments follow recent expansions across major Asia-Pacific gateways, including DP World’s first Singapore warehouse opened in May 2025, which recently achieved TAPA FSR certification, alongside new facilities in Hong Kong, Sydney, and Icheon, South Korea.
