
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof is in stable condition and will undergo heart bypass surgery at IJN before taking time to recover.
PETALING JAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof (pic) will undergo heart bypass surgery at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in the near future.
His press secretary, Datuk Hajah Misiah Taib, said Fadillah’s condition is stable but he has been advised to take complete rest and refrain from receiving visitors to ensure a smooth recovery.
“The Deputy Prime Minister’s condition is stable.
“However, he has been advised to take complete rest and is not encouraged to receive visitors to ensure the treatment and recovery process goes smoothly,” she said in a statement today.
Misiah said the surgery would be performed at IJN on the advice of his medical specialists.
She added that Fadillah’s family has appealed to the public to pray for the operation and treatment to proceed smoothly and for him to make a full recovery before resuming his official duties.
“The family also records its deepest appreciation and thanks to everyone for their prayers, support and concern,” she said.
