THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Thursday that it is working with civil society organizations to monitor infrastructure projects nationwide.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon thanked the members of Bisto Proyekto for their participation in the initiative that would help ensure transparency in the bidding, implementation, and completion of infrastructure projects.
“Citizens have every right to know if projects are being delivered properly, effectively, and for the communities they are meant to serve,” Bisto Proyekto said in a statement.
Dizon said the move was in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure transparency in government projects for the benefit of the Filipino people.
A meeting on the initiative was held on Wednesday, attended by DPWH officials, Cardinal Pablo David, Taongbayan’s Action for Participatory, Accountable, and Transparent Governance lead convenor Dondon Parafina, and People’s Budget Coalition co-convenor Ken Abante.
