MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is strengthening its partnership with the private sector to help rebuild public trust in government and attract more investment to further boost the economy.

Public Works Secretry Vince Dizon on Thursday said that the move formed part of the DPWH reform agenda for all government infrastructure projects to ensure integrity and transparency.

Dizon said it was the President's order that the DPWH should expand its partnership with the business sector to ensure that all the administration's priority infrastructure projects are completed on time and deliver tangible benefits to Filipinos.

In line with the President's directive, Dizon said that the DPWH would establish a "green lane" to encourage legitimate and major construction firms to join bidding programs to speed up construction of infrastructure projects.

Dizon said that the "green lane" program was patterned after the Board of Investments (BOI) agreements for investors and companies who qualify based on a certain criteria.

"There's no reason why we can't do that in DPWH," Dizon futher said.
