The Chairman of the Pejuang Tanah Air Party (Pejuang), Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, was able to persuade more than 25% of Malay voters to endorse the new alliance, Gerakan Tanah Air, in the 15th General Election (GE-15) (GTA).

According to Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan, the leader of the Federal Territories Fighters, the general election was marked by the former prime minister's success in bridging the over 15% support gap among Malay voters.

He claimed that despite the anger and disappointment of many Malays over Dr Mahathir's decision to join the DAP and the PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim election, the Langkawi MP's influence continues to be powerful enough to win their support.

"The GTA battle led by Dr Mahathir to unite and then re-empower the Malay nation is obvious in this GE-15 and has gotten a positive response from the grassroots.

"All parties highly appreciate Dr Mahathir's Malay Agenda, which aims to protect the Malays' overall dignity and position them in their proper context while also respecting the rights of foreigners as guaranteed by the Federal Constitution.

In a statement to the media today, he added, "Furthermore, GTA has made a hard stand not to collaborate with DAP and Anwar will increase Malay voters over the fence to support Dr Mahathir.

The work done in the field, Khairuddin continued, revealed that people's responses to the GTA programs were excellent and garnered a favourable response.

He stated that the GTA would continue to forward the objective of elevating and restoring the dignity of the Malays as a fardu kifayah toward the nation's redevelopment while upholding the rights of other races in a fair and equitable manner to foster a calm and tranquil living.

According to Khairuddin, Dr Mahathir's battle to defend the truth for the nation's and the country's future well-being was highly steadfast and without cheating.

He clarified that Dr Mahathir's priorities in life are the welfare of the country, the nation, and the religion.
