
SANDAKAN: Residents of Kampung Pulau Berhala will enjoy treated water supply through a solar-powered nano-filtration drinking water system to be installed on the island.
This project is a concerted effort to improve the quality of life of local residents by providing access to clean and safe drinking water.
Tanjung Papat Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon announced this during a working visit to Pulau Berhala.

Poon said the installation of the drinking water system is an important step towards ensuring the residents of Pulau Berhala have access to a clean and treated water supply.
“This is a very meaningful endeavour and we are grateful to all parties involved in realising this project,” said the Sabah Development Berhad Chairman.
Meanwhile, Liau said he was very proud to be able to play a leading role in this project which will bring great changes to the people of Pulau Berhala.
“The solar-powered nano-filtration drinking water system not only provides safe and clean drinking water, but is also environmentally friendly and suitable for use in areas that do not have access to electricity.
“We are committed to continuing support and expanding access to clean water supply throughout Sabah, especially in areas that receive less attention,” he said.
Installation work is expected to begin in two weeks, said Liau, hoping the residents of Kampung Pulau Berhala can enjoy the benefits for a long and continuous period, while contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive development.
