The Pulau Indah Power Plant (PIPP) is a 1,200 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant located in Pulau Indah, Selangor. Developed as part of Malaysia’s energy infrastructure expansion, the plant is designed to provide efficient and low-emission power generation to support the country’s growing electricity demand. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art CCGT technology, which improves fuel efficiency while reducing carbon emissions, making it a sustainable and reliable energy source. Advanced Flooring and Coating Systems for Enhanced Protection

As part of its contribution to the PIPP project, Dritech Chemicals supplied a range of specialized coatings and flooring systems, designed to withstand industrial conditions and enhance the overall durability of the plant. The key solutions used in this project include:

1. Dri-Floor EP 1550 – SIRIM Eco-Label Tested, Solvent-Free Epoxy Flooring System

Dri-Floor EP 1550, a solvent-free epoxy flooring system, was applied in various sections of the power plant. This high-performance anti-dust flooring system helps reduce airborne particles that could affect equipment performance and worker safety. Additionally, the system allows for the incorporation of fillers for added anti-slip properties, making it ideal for areas where enhanced traction is needed to prevent workplace accidents.

2. Dri-Gard EP 1800 – High Chemical-Resistant Epoxy Novolac Coating

To provide critical chemical protection, Dri-Gard EP 1800, a highly chemical-resistant epoxy novolac coating, was used in trenches and other key areas exposed to harsh chemicals. This advanced formulation is specially designed to withstand up to 98% sulphuric acid, ensuring that surfaces remain protected from corrosion, chemical spills, and long-term deterioration. By using Dri-Gard EP 1800 in high-risk areas, PIPP ensures that chemical containment zones and wastewater management sections are effectively safeguarded against degradation, reducing maintenance costs and extending the lifespan of the facility.
