THE Department of Tourism (DOT) announced on Friday its partnership with ACMobility and Mobility Access Philippines Ventures Inc., the exclusive distributor of BYD, to promote sustainable travel.
The partnership seeks to enhance the Philippine tourism experience through the “Drive Electric. Love Pinas” campaign, a drive deploying ACMobility’s ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles across key destinations.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the campaign aligns with national initiatives on renewable energy, energy security and climate resilience as foundations of long-term growth.
”By integrating electric mobility into tourism circuits, our Tourist Rest Areas across the Philippines, and emerging destinations, this partnership applies those priorities on the ground that strengthen access, support regional dispersal and allow tourism growth while managing environmental impact,” Frasco said.
ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala described the collaboration as a defining step toward seamless, accessible and sustainable land travel nationwide by aligning EV infrastructure, vehicles and government vision.
The initiative will encourage travelers to explore Philippine landscapes using BYD’s electric vehicles, supported by a growing EV charging network.
In line with the drive, Filipino American vlogger Wil Dasovich will feature major tourism sites, DOT Tourist Rest Areas and Michelin-recognized restaurants on BYD platforms.
