Driver dies after car collides with 4WD in Tuaran

TUARAN: A man died after the Perodua Viva he was driving collided with a Toyota Hilux Vigo on the Batangan Bridge near CKS Supermarket here on Sunday morning.

In the accident that occurred at 6.40am, the 30-year-old car driver was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head and body injuries.

District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Mohamad Nor Amit said they received an emergency call about the incident at 6.44am.

"At the scene, the victim was found trapped in the driver's seat and was extricated by the fire brigade using special equipment.

According to Mohd Nor, the victim's body was then handed over to the police for further action, while the 48-year-old male driver of the four-wheel drive was unharmed.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
