Driver injured after car crashes into parked vehicles outside Seberang Jaya Hospital

A 38-YEAR-OLD man was injured after the car he was driving veered off the road and crashed into two parked vehicles in front of Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ) this morning.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 8.30am, saw the man’s Proton Saga FLX mount the kerb and collide with two unoccupied cars parked along the roadside. The driver, a local resident, was trapped in the driver's seat following the impact.

According to John Sagun Francis, Assistant Director of Operations at the Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), a team from the Perai Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 8.43am.

“However, by the time our personnel reached the location, the victim had already been extricated from the vehicle by members of the public and taken to HSJ for further treatment,” he said.

John Sagun confirmed that no one was inside the two parked vehicles at the time of the accident.

Firefighters later moved the crashed vehicle and carried out safety checks in the area. The operation was officially concluded at 8.59am. - October 13, 2025
