KUNAK: A 46-year-old trailer driver suffered minor injuries after his vehicle carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders skidded off the road along the Kunak–Lahad Datu Road near Kampung Ladang Bugis early Tuesday morning.

The Kunak Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call at 3.15am and dispatched six personnel with FRT and EMRS vehicles to the scene, about 13km from the station. The driver had been rescued by members of the public before firefighters arrived.

The trailer is believed to have veered off the road on its own, causing LPG cylinders to scatter around the area. Firefighters moved the cylinders to a safe location to prevent traffic disruption.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The operation ended at 3.50am.
