
KOTA MARUDU: A driver was killed while four passengers were injured when the single-cab Toyota Vigo they were travelling in skidded and plunged into a 20-metre deep ravine along Jalan Samparita, near Kampung Togudon, Tandek, Thursday.
Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue Station Chief Asman Omar said the deceased was identified as Kellynior Uting, 26.
Asman said personnel unpinned Kellynior as soon as they arrived at the location about 20km from the station.
“A total of eight personnel on two fire engines and a utility vehicle led by Senior Fire Officer II Dusin Sagaron were rushed to the scene of the incident as soon as we received an emergency call at 6.43am,” he said.
