KUNAK: An Isuzu D-Max driver was killed in a collision with a trailer truck on Jalan Kunak-Tawau, here, Monday.
Amir Sarail got stuck in the four-wheel-drive following the incident around 11.50am, while his wife suffered injuries and was sent to hospital for treatment before the firefighters arrived.
Kunak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Chief Mohamad Omarbatha said a team led by Operations Commander Rosman Gari rushed to the scene some 18km away after they received an emergency call via the MERS999 line at 11.54am.
“The fire brigade managed to extricate the driver but he was confirmed dead by medical officers at the scene,” he said.
The trailer truck driver did not suffer any injuries.
