A video has gone viral on Twitter recently, showing an incident that is believed to have taken place in Johor involving a driver of a Singapore-registered car and a Malaysian police traffic officer.
It is unknown when the incident in the video, shared by Twitter user adliehassan took place, though the video itself is likely a re-upload from the website roads.sg based on the watermark.
In the 1-minute-16-second video, a silver Honda Civic with a Singapore-registered plate can be seen continuing to drive despite being told by a Malaysian police traffic officer to stop.
The officer then had to go in front of the car and tap on the front of the car several times to get the attention of the driver.
When the car stops, the officer can be seen standing in front of the car and then going to the driver’s side and knocking on the window to talk with the driver.
However, the driver blatantly ignored the police traffic officer and started to move the car forward again.
The officer then knocked on the car’s side mirrors and when the car still continued moving, he had to stand at the front of the car to stop it from driving away.
Afterwards, the car can be seen parking by the roadside while two police officers talk to the driver.

In the replies to the tweet, many Twitter users slam the action of the driver and hoped that foreign-registered cars would not simply escape action should they break the traffic laws in our country once they returned back home.
One commenter criticised the driver, saying that the individual came from a first-world country but has a ‘second-hand attitude’.
Meanwhile, another commenter questioned whether individuals such as the driver acted this way because they can ‘escape’ from our law once they returned back to their country.
