SANDAKAN: A 23-year-old foreign man sustained minor injuries after his Proton Iswara skidded off the road and fell into a water-filled drain at Jalan Utara, Mile 3, on Thursday night.

District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Severinus @ Mohd Nidzam Sainkui said firefighters rescued the victim upon arriving at the scene.

The station received an emergency call at 9.18pm and arrived at the location, a kilometre away, two minutes later, with seven personnel and a fire engine.
