According to a woman named Winny Twe has taken to social media to share a frightening highway incident that left her shaken and concerned for public safety. Although she says she is not someone who enjoys calling people out online, she felt compelled to speak up after witnessing what she described as an extremely dangerous driving act on the Federal Highway.
The incident occurred at approximately 6pm while she and her husband were travelling toward Kuala Lumpur. Their vehicle was positioned just two cars behind the one involved, giving them a clear view of what unfolded.
According to her account, the car ahead suddenly swerved to the right without warning. It was not a gradual lane change or a controlled stop, but an abrupt movement that forced surrounding vehicles to brake immediately. Drivers behind them were startled, initially believing the vehicle might have encountered a mechanical problem.
What happened next shocked everyone on the road. Instead of pulling over safely, the driver proceeded to perform a U-turn directly on the highway, cutting across three lanes. Traffic in both directions came to a near standstill as motorists struggled to process what they were witnessing.
The woman admitted that she initially assumed the driver would be a reckless young motorist. However, when she later saw the individual behind the wheel, she claimed it appeared to be a man in his sixties.
As the situation unfolded, she described feeling intense fear, particularly about vehicles approaching from behind. While her car had managed to stop in time, she was worried that drivers further back might not react quickly enough, potentially triggering a chain collision. She said she repeatedly checked her side mirrors, bracing herself for the possibility of impact.
She also recalled urging the driver beside her to honk continuously to alert vehicles and motorcyclists further behind, fearing that some might not see the sudden obstruction in time. In those few moments, she described the situation as terrifying.
Fortunately, traffic was not overly congested at the time, and most vehicles were not travelling at high speed. Adequate spacing between cars allowed drivers to brake safely, narrowly avoiding what could have been a major accident involving multiple lanes of traffic.
Reflecting on the incident, she expressed relief that no one was injured, describing it as a matter of luck and timing. She added that while some road accidents are unavoidable, others occur due to irresponsible behaviour that places countless lives at risk.
She hopes her post serves as a reminder to all motorists to drive responsibly and respect the lives of others on the road. Highway driving requires alertness, patience and strict adherence to traffic rules. A single reckless decision can have irreversible consequences.
Authorities have not released any official statement regarding the incident at the time of writing, but the online post has sparked conversations about road safety and the importance of reporting dangerous driving behaviour.
