The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has announced the expansion of Phase Two of the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) 2.0 project, extending eligibility to an additional 14 types of commercial vehicles effective from tomorrow.
Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, the minister, revealed that this expansion brings the total number of commercial vehicle categories entitled to subsidised diesel to 23. Applications for the subsidy can be made through the MySubsidi Diesel System starting on Monday (13 May) at 10 am.
Addressing reporters after delivering his speech at the Northern Zone KPDN Monthly Assembly, Armizan disclosed the newly included vehicle categories, which encompass a range of commercial transport needs, from rigid lorries to service buses and food catering vans.
Registration for the 14 newly added vehicle types can be completed through the official MySubsidi website. Armizan emphasized that companies seeking the subsidy must be registered in Malaysia, with their vehicles holding valid road tax and meeting eligibility criteria.
Once approved, companies are required to apply for a 'Fleet Card' from five designated oil companies, including Petronas, Shell, Petron, Caltex, and BHP. However, each company can only select three oil companies for their 'Fleet Card.'
Phase One of the SKDS 2.0 project initially covered nine vehicle types, including general cargo lorries and prime movers. The decision to expand the scheme underscores the government's commitment to providing support to various sectors of the commercial transport industry.
For any inquiries or assistance regarding the application process, the MySubsidi Diesel System Call Centre is available on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm.
