
Tenom: A 30-year-old man was sentenced to seven years’ jail and fined RM30,000 or three years’ jail for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The driver, Nainmoon Tandon, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Flavian Edward Henry, to the charge under Section 45(1)(A) (b) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
His driving licence was also suspended for seven years.
According to the facts of the case, the accused, who was driving a Proton Saga in October 2023, was under the influence of alcohol and had exceeded the speed limit.

In the incident, both drivers suffered minor injuries, while the passenger of the Proton Saga suffered serious injuries.
