
Kota Kinabalu: The High Court on Thursday fixed July 15 this year for mention the case involving a water dispenser seller charged with two counts of having and trafficking cannabis.
Judge Maslinda @ Linda Mohd Anal set the date for Welglas Wong Han Thing whose case was brought up for mention to fix trial date.
The prosecution had informed that all the documents had been served to all parties.

The offence under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) and read together with Section 39B(2) of the DDA provides for a life imprisonment and death sentence, and if the sentence is life imprisonment, whipping must be imposed at least 12 strokes, on conviction.
On the second count, he allegedly had in possession 181.57gm of Cannabis at 10.30pm on the same day by the roadside in Kg Kemberian, Manggatal.
For this offence, he was charged under Section 6 of the DDA and punishable under Section 39A(2) of the DDA which carries a jail term of between five years and life imprisonment, and whipping at least 10 strokes, on conviction.
During the hearing, the prosecution told that about 11 witnesses would be calling.
Pending the date, Wong was ordered remanded further as the charges against him has no provision for bail.
