Drugs: 5 held in Lahad Datu and Semporna

LAHAD DATU: Police arrested four individuals, including a woman, in separate operations around Kampung Pisang, Jalan Bakawali, here, on Friday.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the first operation saw the detention of a foreigner and a local woman inside an unnumbered house.

Their arrests led to the discovery of a translucent plastic containing drugs believed to be syabu weighing 0.27gm.

The man tested positive for drugs while the woman tested negative.

In another operation at a garage, narcotic police arrested a local man who attempted to escape during inspection.

The suspect later handed over a cigarette box containing substances believed to be syabu inside a translucent packet. The substance weighs 0.12gm and the suspect tested positive for taking drugs.

Another foreigner was also arrested after he tested positive for drugs.

Meanwhile, in SEMPORNA, police arrested a Filipino and seized 5.74gm of substances believed to be syabu in an operation at Kampung Bangau-Bangau, on Thursday.

District Police Chief Supt Tan Hiap Wah said the man was detained at 4pm after a translucent packet containing substances believed to be syabu was found on the suspect.
