Kota Kinabalu: A 39-year-old car salesman was tentatively charged in the Magistrate’s Court here Wednesday with trafficking 106.36gm of 3-4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine.
Lim Sean Loong allegedly committed the offence on April 23, this year, at 3.30pm, at the Block B car park of Taman Lembah Shantung in Penampang.
However, no plea was recorded from Lim during the hearing before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles.
The offence, under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes, on conviction.

In another case, an entertainment outlet owner was fined RM3,500 or four months jail for running the premises without a licence.
Larry Wong, 40, pleaded guilty to committing the offence at the Vsing Kota Kinabalu, JQ Central, Coastal Highway, off Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens, here, on April 21, this year at 11.55pm.
The court heard from the prosecution that a police raiding team on OP Pusat Hiburan found the music in the premises still playing loudly and that the premises had no licence.
Counsel Carmen Khoo representing Wong, requested lower bail and the return of the seized properties.
Prosecuting officer Inspector Kelvan Elson Maik applied an appropriate sentence and objected to the said application, citing Wong has no licence.
Wong was charged under Section 3 of the Public Entertainment Ordinance 1958 which provides for a fine of up to RM50,000 or up to one year jail or both on conviction.
The court ordered the seized items to be forfeited.
