Drunk passenger fined £2,224 for verbally abusing staff on BA flight

  • Emmet Moynihan, 31, has been fined £2,224 after admitting to being drunk on a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Las Vegas.
  • The Co Cork resident verbally abused cabin crew and called the situation a "f****** joke" when told he could not use the toilet during a flight delay.
  • Footage shared online showed Moynihan lunging towards passengers who were filming him before the co-pilot intervened.
  • He pleaded guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates Court to entering an aircraft while drunk and failing to obey the lawful commands of a pilot.
  • Magistrate Sandra Joseph noted the case was not sent to the Crown Court only because the aircraft was still on the ground.
