Dry taps, low water pressure in Kuching due to pipe burst

MIRI – Many areas in Kuching, today are experiencing dry taps as well as low water pressure following a main pipe burst at Taman BDC in the state capital.

In a notice posted by the Kuching Water Board (KWB) today across its social media accounts, the affected areas include Jalan Padungan, Jalan Abell, Jln Chan Chin Ann, Jalan Bukit Mata, Jalan Ban Hock, Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim, Jalan Datuk Wee Kheng Chiang, Jalan Petanak. Jalan Blacksmith, Jalan Sg Padungan, Jalan Rumbia, Jalan Pending, Jalan Central, Jalan Nipah, and areas within the vicinity.

As per the notice, the board further stated the repair time is estimated to be from 2.30pm till 6pm subject to initial investigations involving the pipe burst incident. 

“The board is trying to find the best option to carry out repairs as it may affect many areas in Kuching city.”.

As water tankers are being deployed to the affected areas, KWB expressed its regrets for any inconvenience caused by the unscheduled water supply interruption. – The Vibes, July 19, 2022
