HOW to translate policy commitments into tangible outcomes and support a strong, transparent and predictable business environment is the focus of the Asean Business Environment Forum (ABEF) on March 11 at Ascott Bonifacio Global City.
The event is hosted by the Department of Trade and Investment, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
“This aims to showcase ideas and real-world practices that will strengthen Asean’s position as an attractive destination for foreign investors," DTI FTSC Executive Director Benedict Uy told reporters during the Pre-Asean Business Environment Forum on Monday.
Guided by the theme, “From Policy to Performance: Making Asean Work for Business,” the forum will feature Asean ministers, senior government officials, and leaders from the private sector.
“The forum is also important to strengthen Asean’s business environment despite the geopolitical tensions and issues,” Uy said, noting that it will tackle ease of doing business, investment flows, supply chain, logistics and regulatory frameworks.
An official of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is among the guest speakers who will discuss initiatives that streamline procedures and reduce bureaucratic delays in the country.
Organized as a side event ahead of the Asean Economic Ministers’ Retreat, ABEF will engage both the private and public sectors in discussions that directly complement ministerial-level policy deliberations.
Aligned with Asean 2026’s theme, “Navigating Our Future Together,” ABEF will focus on three strategic priorities, Uy said.
“First, advancing the Asean business environment. Second, strengthening public-private collaboration. And third, leveraging digitalization to promote transparency and efficiency,” he added. “It will share insights and best practices to support a strong, transparent, and competitive regional business environment.”
