THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has allotted P2 billion from the Small Business Corp. (SBCorp) this year for the Women’s Enterprise Fund (WEF).
SBCorp, a government agency, is DTI’s financing arm that promotes the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing accessible loans. The WEF extends capital to women-owned and women-led MSMEs. “We continue to support women entrepreneurs seeking local and global expansion, while also opening opportunities for those ready to expand, create jobs and strengthen local economies,” Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said in a statement on Wednesday. The fund encourages Filipino women to start or expand their business as a means to achieving financial security and contributing to the country’s economic growth. “We understand that capital is a challenge to many. DTI, through SBCorp, has tailored programs to meet the needs of MSMEs like the WEF,” Roque added. The WEF, launched in June 2025, now offers loans from P30,000 to P20 million, with flexible terms of up to five years. Collateral requirements are waived for loans of up to 5 million. Payment of capital and interest are likewise waived on the first year. SBCorp has made the loan application process easier to ensure accessibility. Borrowers may apply digitally through the SBCorp Money App (on Google Play and Huawei AppGallery), or via app.sbcorp.ph. Interested parties are also encouraged to visit any of DTI’s 1,431 Negosyo Centers nationwide. They provide guidance on business opportunities and help individuals understand and encourage them to avail of DTI programs to grow their ventures. Inquiries are welcome on hotline 1-384.
