THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Friday announced a P2-billion loan program for small transport operators and drivers with business licenses who want to avail of electric vehicles (EVs).
DTI‘s attached agency, the Small Business Corp. (SBCorp), will run the E-Transport Loan program.
Borrowers may borrow from P1.5 to P3 million per vehicle, payable in five years and includes a grace period of up to one year on principal and interest.
Online loan applications start on April 21. Download the SBCorp Money app and select the E-Transport Loan icon.
SBCorp also offers low-interest facility loans, multipurpose loans, and special lending programs for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Last week, it launched a P4-billion MSME fund to provide financial support Filipino entrepreneurs affected by the Iran war.
In 2025, it released more than P11 billion in loans to 66,803 MSMEs.
The loans have flexible repayment structures, including grace periods of three months to one year, giving borrowers time to stabilize operations before making regular payments.
Borrowers who maintain good repayment records may also have access to bigger credit lines.
This year, the SBCorp aims to provide P12 billion in loans to qualified entrepreneurs.
